Obituary - The Moline Advance, October 22, 1936

John F. Lynam, son of R. L. and Mary J. Lynam was born in Bath County, Kentucky, May 17, 1862 and died at Moline October 14, 1936; age 74 years, 4 months and 27 days.
  At the age of seventeen he came to Kansas and for a short time resided on a farm near Grenola.  In his early twenties he went to northen Missouri where he taught school for several years.  Eventually he gave up teaching for farming.  In 1907, he returned to Kansas, where he has since made his home.
  On August 13, 1890 he was married Mable Rein.  To this union were born ten children; Grace, George, Reva, Marie, Ralph, Edith, Gladys, John, Paul and James.
  In 1891 he united with the Christian Church and his interest in the church was foremost interest until his passing.
  He leaves to mourn his passing:  his wife a sister and nine children.
  The funeral service was conducted at the Christian Church in Moline, October 16th at 10:30 a.m. by his minister E. B. King.  Interment in the Moline Cemetery.
