    Will of John Leathers
         I give and devise to my wife during her life all my estate . . . it is my desire that no timber should be cut or sold by her except what is necessary for the support of the plantation. At the death of my wife, if it shall happen before ten years . . . land shall be held and enjoyed by my son Jonathan, and my daughters, Patsy, Nancy, Alice and Betsy . . . at time of my death my wife after ten years land sold . . . money divided amongst my sons, William Leathers, Moses Leathers, Jonathan Leathers, my daughters, Polly Brown, Patsy Leathers, Nancy Leathers, Betsy Leathers, Alice Leathers and my grandson James Leathers (son of Nancy Leathers), and my granddaughter Mariah Leathers (daughter of Patsy) . . . my grandsons, James Webb, Nathaniel Webb and Garland Webb, children of my deceased daughter, Sally Webb . . . appoint my friends and acquaintances John Moore, Lawrence T. Dade and William Quarles, and my son, Jonathan Leathers, to be executors . . . this 15 day of June 1818.

    For reasons occuring since making the above will . . . revoke that part . . . appointing my son Jonathan Leathers, one of my executors . . . appoint my friend, Richard Taliaferro. 29th July 1818.
