In the will of John Lamar II, made November 2, 1756, William Bishop received his equal share of his father's moveable estate. It was divided among the six children; William Bishop, Mark, Jacob, Rebecca, Susanna and John Lamar III. John said, "I give and bequeath to my Eldest son, William Bishop Lamar, the land and plantation on which I now dwell after my wife's death, or if she should intermarry, the two thirds to him and his heirs, forever." signed: John Lamar witnesses: Robert Lamar Basil Beall Richard Lamar John Lamar II married Sarah Marshall and died in 1756, two years before the death of his father. They became the parents of William Bishop, Jacob, John III, Maximilllion, Rebecca, Susannah, William Bishop Lamar, eldest son of John Lamar II married Elizabeth Smith, born 1751, and became the father of a large family.
