Personal History

John Kittredg(e), first son of John Kitteridge and Mary Littlefield, was born 24 11mo. [Jan.] 1665[/6], in Billerica, colony of Massachusetts Bay.[1][4] He died intestate 27 April 1714, in the same town, in the Province of Massachusetts Bay.[2][4]

He is the first in the family to become a doctor.

On 14 June 1714,[5] in the probate court of Middlesex Co., Hannah Kitteridge, widow, and John Kittredg were appointed administrators of the estate of the late John Kitteridge of Billerica. Hannah (apparently her H mark) and John, along with Daniel Kittredg, all of Billerica, signed a bond in the amount of £300. On 17 May 1714, an inventory of the estate was taken by Samuel Walker, Joseph Daues, and George Brown. On 26 May 1715, the real estate, including the homestead farm of about 57.5 acres and additional lots of about 395.25 acres (mostly swamp), were valued at £476-10 (with the widow's third being £158-16-8 and including about 42 acres and a third of the orchard).
