1850 census; death and marital (unmarried) status per 1953 K.gen.bk., says killed in action, Civil War, abt 1865 - but, see below! Tombstone inscription, Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, Bureau Co, IL, Lot 258, #3, d. Jun 5, 1851, 16y, 9m, 22d. Therefore, birth date = 14 Sep 1834 ?? or should it be 1837? John was listed in order of the children as age 13, in the 1850 census, that would be born in 1837, between Sarah and Joseph. This is also confirmed by the 1840 census. Will want to check on whether the age 16 on the tombstone inscription could be a 14.
