    34 JOHN1 HUTSENPILLER (Benj.3, Jacob2, Stephen1) was born in 1789, probably in Frederick Co., Va. On Feb. 25, 1813, he married Mary Surbaugh (1792-1862). (See p. 287.) They lived on Milligan Creek in the Blue Sulphur Dist. of Greenbrier Co. In 1814, he was a “chain man” on a surveying team. In 1860, his property was valued at $6,200. His family then was his wife, his unmarried daughter, Ann, and his 68-year-old aunt, Hetty Wax, (see p. 287) his mother’s sister, who died in 1872 and is buried at Bunger’s Mill. Before his death on Oct. 15, 1861, Mr. Hutsenpiller divided his property among his children.
    Both he and his wife are buried at Bunger’s Mill.
