Facts and Events
Fought in King Philip's War. Many sources suggest John Jr. was a constable in 1676 (Source:Nutt, Charles. History of Worcester and Its People, p. 4:685; Source:Crane, Ellery B. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County, Massachusetts, p. 1:429; Source:Cutter, William Richard. Memorial Encyclopedia of the State of Massachusetts, p. 2:411; others). Given that he was 14 at the time, it seems probable they have confused him with his father. The same may apply to the above comment someone has left here about King Philip's War, since King Philip's War was 1675-6, though it is slightly more likely that he would aid in defense against Indians as a young teenager, than that he would hold a town office requiring a bond be submitted. --Jrich 18:20, 3 June 2011 (EDT) References
