Sarah Blodgett of Woburn and John Hayward of Concord, Jan. 7, 1787. [p. 1:7 says years are given as their modern equivalents, so this is 7 Jan 1686/87.]
- Both John Sr. and John Jr. had wives named Sarah and were having children at the same time in Concord. Consequently, it can be difficult to separate the children into their proper families. For example (one of many possible), Source:Crane, Ellery Bicknell. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County Massachusetts, p. 1:429, gives John Sr. no children after 1683. So in his listing, this couple get a Sarah and Thomas who were born before their marriage date. Rebecca and Edmund are both born in 1689 (but not on the same day, so one from each family), of which Crane only shows Edmund, placed in this family [John Sr. had a daughter Rebecca by his first marriage in 1660, and Edmund Haywood is listed in probate documents as a child of John Sr., so this Rebecca should belong to John Jr. and Edmund to John Sr.] Other constraints which may simply this somewhat include two recorded facts: 1) the marriage of John Jr. in Woburn in early 1687, and the death of John Sr.'s wife in Concord in 1692.
