Helfrich, John E. Lansing, MI Born August 14, 1918, in Lansing; died January 26, 2005, at the age of 86. Mr. Helfrich was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and had retired from Lansing Electric Motors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith. Surviving are Mary Ellen Albright, his lifelong companion, along with her 4 children. Also surviving are his daughters, Peggy Jean (Walter) Pike and Teresa Fay (Michael) Hanson; sons, Robert Earl and Michael John; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 4, at 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. There will be no visitation. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, Capital Area Service Center, 1755 Abbey Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823, in memory of Mr. Helfrich. The family is being served by the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, Lansing.�Published in the Lansing State Journal - January 30, 2005."
