    Despite the VRs cited, this source argues that any entry for births before 1651 when the records were started are copies from an earlier book, and based on relative ages and other evidence (namely Thomas' other son Samuel b. 23 Jun 1639, but a Samuel Gibbs also listed in Plymouth Colony's "Sandwidge Regster" as 22 Jun 1649), it is likely that the birth is probably 1644.
