↑ The cited source S1 estimates his birth as 1615 with no explanation. He is on a list of men able to bear arms in 1643, so at least 16, so born before 1627. However, as his marriage is estimated to be 1642, that would suggest he was born before 1621 to be of legal age. As there is some question about the dates of birth of his sons, he could have married as much as 10 years before that, so 1615 is probably a reasonable compromise, but there doesn't appear to be much precision to it.
