  1. Some pertinent quotes on the identity of Thomas' wife from Source:The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, p. 123:54-56, "Thomas Gibbs of Sandwich, Mass." by Lydia B. (Phinney) Brownson and MacLean W. McLean:

"We can find no record, even of the given name, of his wife...".

On 11 Apr 1693, an agreement was executed by the three sons John Gibbs, Thomas Gibbs, and Samuel Gibbs so that "our Mother may be comfortably maintained ye time of her life", but the article notes "there seems to be no record of her death nor of the settlement of her estate". [This agreement may also be found in Source:Mayflower Descendant,p. 18:61.]
  2. There are some questions about dates. Source:The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, p. 123:54-56, "Thomas Gibbs of Sandwich, Mass." by Lydia B. (Phinney) Brownson and MacLean W. McLean says "we are inclined to believe the she was the mother of all his children and that their marriage took place about 1642." That this date is chosen when the recorded births of three sons are in the 1630's is due to a long analysis that concludes the dates were copied wrong from an older record, and should all be 10 years later than recorded. To accept the recorded dates as they are, then you are faced with the fact that all three sons married untypically late in life, and there is over a 10 year gap between those three and the younger children, i.e., John b. 1634 m. abt. 1669 age 35, Thomas b. 1636 m. 1674 age 38, Samuel b. 1639 m. 1676 age 37, Sarah b. 1652, Job and Bethia b. 1655, Mary b. 1657. So this theory seems very feasible.
