According to a Geilear researcher, John B. Geilear (Jr.?) was born 17 Mar 1829 in New York city, and married Katherine Beyer at St. John's Church in New York about 1805 [sic]. They lived in Piermount NJ, Middletown, New Jersey; New York city; and eastern Massachusetts where John died. He is buried at Faltur Carrol's church in 1875. He is mentioned in the New York Daily Times as a 20th ward Democratic Whig nominee for Constable in October of 1852.

NOTE: I think it is possible that some of this info pertains to his father.
 In the 1850 census for New York, New York, John B. Geiler is 35 France 'German interpreter'; with Margaret 29; John P. 11; Elizabeth Winn 9 and Louisa Winn 5.
 NOTE: I believe Elizabeth and Louisa may be John's stepdaughters. Mother-in-law Margaret 'Gieler', age 55 France, is listed with Louisa and John Deal in 1870; and 'Margaret Geiler' 64 France, is listed as mother-in-law with Elizabeth and Adam Becker in 1880.
 NOTE: I have not found John (Sr or Jr) in 1860.
 In the 1870 census for New York, New York, 18th District, John 'Geiler' is a jeweler, age 28 from New York.  His wife Catherine is 24 from Germany.  The children are John 3; and Margaret, 1 -- both born New York. {2nd enumeration, p. 803, 20th ward}
