MARRIAGE: 1) Per "Four Families..." the Garretts and Wares knew each other in England & intermarried, emigrated to America together and followed the same migratory routes to SC & GA where intermarrying continued and this spanned from the 17th to the 19th century. 2) Per LDS records c1664 Leicester Eng. per Terry Smith
LAND: Per "Four Families..." he came to VA 1663 and received royal landgrant with Nicholas Ware Jr. of 385 ac.

COMMENTS: John II came to VA with Peter WARE, possible brother of Nicholas Ware Jr. in 1663 - had land grant of 385 ac. 21 Jun 1665 with Nicholas Jr. in New Kent Co. VA - Mehringer research per Sylvia Martin Robertson. Noteby Mrs. Mehringer "Comment of John Garrett of PA living in Fairfax Co. 1740 near Edward Garrett I. John Garrett and his brother-in-law, Nicholas Ware, patented 386 acres on the north side of the Mattapony River, on the head branches of Hartequack Swamp on 8/21/1665, patent 5, p. 185. The Ocaneechee's, decimated by disease and massacres, were peaceful by the early 1660's.

NOTE: He and his brorther-in-law Nicholas Ware, Sr patented land in NewKent County on the north side of the Mattapony River. This area was later made part of King and Queen County in 1665. See notes with Nicholas Ware, Sr. James H. Ware has a copy of the land patent.
