In an email from Virden and Doris Ault (dvault@@dbscorp.net) to Shawna Woodard (sorghumgrass@@yahoo.com) 4 Aug 2003, Doris states that the History of Wyandot Co. 1884 states John had 12 children. The email further states:
John bought land from the US government in April 1836 being the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of the NW1/4, Sec 33, T3, South of range 12, Hardin County, Ohio, District of Lands, Bucyrus Ohio School District Number 4, The John Flower School is entered in Jackson Township records dated March 2, 1846. This school was located on his land.
From 1850 to 1867 John and Susanna sold a total of 225 acres.
Susanna could not write so her signature was an X.
Marking livestock for identification was necessary during the period of open range. Jackson township records show that the ear mark for John Flower's livestock was a square crop of the left ear and a hold in the same.
Executor of John Flower's estate was neighbor A. H. VanOrsdall. The estate was appraised by John Parsell, John Fitch, and James Baker. Estate papers are found in Box 94, Wyandot County, Ohio.
As instructed in John Flower's will, a tombstone was purchased at Bowsher & Roberts, Upper Sandusky, Ohio for $125. Inscribed on the tombstone located in Good Hope Cemetery, Wyandot County, Ohio.
A sale of personal estate was held 30 April 1873 with a total of $1310.31.

Vouchers paid $641.57.
