John FENIMORE was born about 1775 in Pennsylvania. He served in the military in 1813 in Ohio. Records show John is most likely who may was the John Finnamore/Finemore/Fennemore/Fennamore who was a private in Capt. Henry Mallows company from 28 Jul 1813 un Aug 1813 when he was transferred to Captain William Kilgores Company. He was then appointed as "D.B.IR.MASTER". His discharge date is not known and his last pay period on record was 5 Sep 1813. John moved to Chillicothe between 1803 and 1806. R John lived in Chillocothe until the late 1820's. In April 1829 John was a resident of Wayne County, Indiana when he bought two los in lots from an Obidaia R. and Margaret Weaver. In 1830 John bough two tracts of land in and adjacent to Abington in Wayne County. On Feb 19th 1830 he was deeded land west of Brownsville-Richmond road and lots in Abington by William Jones and his wife Nancy. On 23 March he was deeded land bordering the Abington Meeting house lot by Cary H. Boatright and his wife Harriet who is possibly Johns Daughter. In August 1830 John and his wife sold to William Sumner of Centerville land which had been purchased from the Jones's and Boatrights six months earlier. There is no John Fenimore in the 1840 Indiana census
