John2 Fayerweather (Thomas1) was born at Charlestown, Massachusetts, 20 September 1634, according to the Fayerweather File at Westborough. In an error that appears to be a reversal of the correct order, his birth in 8th month [October] 1634 and baptism on 21, 7 month (September) were recorded in Boston records (BRC 9:2,3); Samuel Sewall in his Diary noted on 14 April 1712 that "this day Capt. John Fayerweather dies, born in Boston, Septr 1634. A good Christian Member of the old Church" (The Diary of Samuel Sewall 1674-1729, M. Halsey Thomas, ed., 2 vols. (New York, 1973], 2:686). He was buried in tomb no. 43 on the south line in the South Burying Place [Granary Burial Ground], Boston (Annual Report of the Cemetery Department of the City of Boston for the Fiscal Year 1901-1902 [Boston, 1902], 63-64).
