Elizabeth was the daughter of John and Christian ( -----) Allen of Swansea (Bristol Co. Probate, 1 19,20;4 266-268). She had married, first, at Swansea 6 November 1668, John Dixey (H. L. Peter Rounds, Vital Records of Swansea. Massachusetts [to be published by the Society, 1990] [hereinafter Swansea VRs], A:93), the only son of William and Anna (-----) Dixey. Captain William Dixey was a proprietor at Salem in 1634, making his home on "Cape Ann side," later Beverly (Walter Goodwin Davis, The Ancestry of Sarah Stone, wife of James Patten of Arundel (Kennebunkport), Maine (Portland, 1930), 27-30). John and Elizabeth (Allen) Dixey had two daughters surname Dixey: Elizabeth, born 3 October 1669 and Sarah, born 1 October 1672 (Swansea VRs, A:5, A:59). Dixey was a prosperous sea captain living at Swansea at the time of his death in 1673 at the age of 34. The girls were baptized at Beverly, Massachusetts, 24 September 1676, as "daughters of John Dixey, deceased, son of William" (Davis, The Ancestry of Sarah Stone, 30). Elizabeth (Allen) (Dixey) Fayerweather died 10 February 1689, aged 42 years (Fayerweather File, Westborough).
