(Captain John Fayerweather) married, second, at Swansea, Massachusetts, between 13 and 24 November 1674, Elizabeth (Allen) Dixey. The town record for the year 1674, as given in Records of the Colony of New Plymouth (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed , Vol. 8: "Miscellaneous Records 1633-1689" [Boston, 1857], 51) notes only that "they were married and not recorded" On 13 November 1674 John Fayerweather signed a pre-nuptial agreement to provide a jointure in consideration of a marriage to be had and solemnized between him and Elisabeth Dicksey late wife of John Dicksey of Swansey (Suffolk Deeds, 14 vols. [Boston, 1903], 13:274-277), and eleven days later, on 24 November, he accepted the responsibility for proper management of the inheritance of his stepdaughters, daughters of Elizabeth, his "present wife" (Suffolk Deeds, 14 vols. [Boston, 1903], 13277-279). Trustees in both cases were James Brown and John Allen the Elder, both of Swansea.
