In the 1810 Tax List for Ohio, John Driver is listed having 24 acres in Butler County (survey 4 2 16). Randolph County is located in East Indiana; area 457 sq. mi; bounded on the East by Ohio and drained by the Mississinewa and Whitewater rivers and the West Fork of the White River In the 1790 census, his numbers were 1-1-1-0-0 (Washington Co) or 1-4-3-0-0 (Alleghany Co) From Marjorie Matzen At the time of his father's death, John was not present, nor did he send any correspondence saying he had received his inheritance. When James' will was settled, John's portion was being held in trust for him by the executor. Normally, the eldest son would be executor. Instead, we find Rebecca's husband, Joseph Peden, along with Alexander Peden, named. According to the court records, Alexander did most of the work. References
