In the 1810 Tax List for Ohio, Isaiah Driver is listed having 180 acres in Fairfield County (survey is 17 1618). From Marjorie Matzen The legal record of James Driver's will includes the following Know all men by these presents that we, Isaiah Driver of Fairfield County and Ezekial Driver of Pickaway County, both of the state of Ohio, are held and firmly bound unto Joseph and Alexander Peden, Executors of the Testament and last Will of James Driver, Dec'd, (their father) in the sum of four hundred and two dollars to be paid to the said Joseph and Alexander Peden or to their certain Attorney Executors & Administrators or assigns to which payment will truly be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors Administrators, and every of them firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals dated the 25th of April Anno Domino 1813. Whereas the said James Driver in and by his last Will and Testament made the 24th of March 1808 after sundry other bequests did bequeath an equal division to us of his Estate with the rest of his children after his widows part was deducted after the payment of his debts and other consequent expenses and charges. Now the condition of this obligation is such that if any part of said money should appear to be wanting to pay any debt or debts, legacy or legacies which the said Executors shall not have other assets to pay, and if in such case the said Isaiah & Ezekiel Driver shall return the said legacys or dividends or such or so much as shall be necessary to pay their proportionable part thereof, then the above obligaton shall be sold and of none affect otherwise remain in full force and virtue. Sealed and delivered in the presence of (attest.) Obadiah Peden & Ann Peden. This document was signed by Isaiah Driver and Ezekial Driver. On the probate account sheet it says that Isaiah Driver and Ezekiel Driver have been paid their legacies in full by refunding bond and receipt. There is a will for an Isaiah Driver in Fairfield County dated 1843 (w63 p167: c1943) From Lori Craytor Subject: Isaiah Driver b 1767 Isaiah Driver (b. 1767) (m.) Sarah (?) lived in Rushcreek Twp. in Fairfield Co. Ohio. He had sons James and Noah; daughters Rachel, Margaret, Sophia, Ann/Nancy and others. Margaret married James Staton Collins, Jr. I was also told there is Indian in our Driver family. Never been able to prove it or find another descendant who could help. I have some old pictures that show very dark people, but who knows. I descend from James Driver d 1810 Washington Co., PA. and his son, Isaiah Driver d 1847 Fairfield Co., O.
