John Dowell lived in N.C. until 1845-50, then he moved to Indiana, then he moved to Illinois in 1856. He got to Shelby co around April 1856. Two maiden sisters may have moved with him. They were called Mindy and Cindy. He only lived here a short time when died in 1958.
