Mr. Boothe was a native of Arkansas. He came to Texas when just a child and settled with his parents in East Central Texas. He married Jennie Maye Absher in June, 1893 in Milam County. He and his family moved to Mills County and later to Runnels County, where they lived about ten years. They moved to Dickens County in January of 1912. He bought a farm in Duck Creek and lived there until his death. He and Jennie had six children – Cordelia, Homer, Preston, Garvy, Alma and Kenton. Jennie Maye Boothe passed away December 23, 1918. Mr. Boothe and the children remained on the farm. He married Minnie Law January 25, 1920. They had one child, Wanda Grace. Minnie passed away in the year 1929. He married Radie Simmons in 1930. They had one child, Jean.
