Son of James Blackmar. BIOGRAPHY: The Early Records of the Town of Providence Volume XII Being the Book called Town Council No. 2 1715 - 1732 and containing the Records of the Providence Town Council Pages 37 - 38 July ye 9th 1722: It being munday the Councill is a gaine in being. Where as Mr. James Young and Mr John Blackmar both appeared before this Councill and declared the state and Condition of theire mother Mrs Mary Blackmar, widdow, and the Councill haveing Considered the premisses: have ordered as followeth that the said John Blackmar shall with the help and assistance of the said James Young Remove and take. his said mother home to his own house & provide for her such things as shall be neede full untill the next siting of the Councill: or provide sum place for her where shee may have suteable Releiff untill the Councill meetes againe and have opportunity to take further Care for her.

He sold Daniel Matthcwson, 2 acres near Matthewsons dwelling house, for £3. 1717, Feb. 15. He, as son and heir of James Blackmar. assigned to Richard Knight, a deed of certain land that said James Blackmar had bought of Thomas Field, in 1699. 1722, Dec. 13. He sold Elisha Smith a meadow, for £5, lOs. 1760, Nov. 8. Will - proved 1768, May 30. Exs. sons David and Abner who refused, and his widow Jemima, took administration on personal estate. To wife Jemima, 3 acres land, a feather bed, profits of a third of farm and use of all personal estate for life. To grandson James Blackmar, 20s. To son Henry, a gun. To son John, £100. To son Nathaniel, lot containing 2 or 3 acres. To sons David and Abner, the rest of homestead, equally. To 3 daughters, Mary Mackintine, Anne Place and Je- mima Young, land in Smithfield, and all personal estate at decease of wife. Inventory, £81, 11s. 12p., viz: 3 feather beds, warming pan, silver cup, woolen wheel, money due £24, 15s, 4p., cow, heifer, &c. 1769, Aug. 1. Will - proved 1769, Oct. 2. Widow Jemima. Exs. Richard Steere, of Glocester, and Anthony Steere, of Smithfield, who were to sell lands. To granddaughter Jane Blackmar, daughter of son Abner, 15s. To granddaughter Jemima Biackmar, daughter of son Nathaniel, I5s. To daughters Mary Mackintine, Anne Place and ,Jemima Young, all the rest of estate, her sons having had full share from their fathers estate. References
