RELIGION: Travelled in Cheshire, Lancashire and also Scotland where he attended a general meeting at Edinburgh in 1783. [See LivingStones ] Travelled Scotland and Cornwall. [see Obituary] BIRTH: 1396.155 1397.202 John Binns, son of John and Abigail, Cragg top, near Kildwick, born 20 i 1704. MARRIAGE: (1) 1396.211397.129 John Binns of Carlton Biggin in Craven married Mary Sutcliffe at Skipton, 7 iv 1750 (2) 1396.27 1397.152 1404.1151614.47 John Binns, of Biggin, son of John (woollen weaver) and Abigail (both deceased) of Biggin, parish of Carlton, married Mary Wormall, daughter of John and Elizabeth (deceased) Wormall of Cononley, Kildwick parish, 13 vii 1762 at Lothersdale. DEATH: 1306.51 John Binns, farmer, of Carlton Biggin, parish of Carlton, died 20 v 1785, 81 years. BURIAL: 23 v 1785 at Skipton. WILL/PROBATE: He left Carleton Biggin to Daniel, his nephew [RIN 55]. OCCUPATION: Farmer, Minister. RESIDENCES: At birth - Crag Top, Kildwick 1712 - Moved to Carleton Biggin with parents. 1731 - Inherited Carleton Biggin. OBITUARY: He resided in Carlton Biggin from the time his parents removed there in 1712 until he died - being 73 years. He was religiously inclined from his childhood and in his integrity until his dying day. As a Father to his younger Brothers, ready and willing to give advice when they stood in need, the care of whom rested pretty much upon him, they being young when their father died. Was a Minister 52 years. His testimony was short, but sound and to good satisfaction. He several times visited this and divers of the neighbouringCounties. Was twice as far as the Land's End in Cornwall, and once visited London, etc. And in the 80th year of his age travelled into Scotland taking Meetings going and returning. See a Testimony concerning him by Knaresborough Mo. Meeting, gives account that he came forth in public Testimony about the year1733 which was not large. That he was a steady and diligent Labourer in Meetings for the arising of Life and his ministry sound and satisfactory and that he had his Integrity to the End.
