Manifest for Madonna gives wrong names but the dates are right. Arrived in New York on September 1, 1922 and departed from Constanza. "Pierre Bartolf, his wife Elisabeta, and son "Jean" are going to his son-in-law, Bartolf, in Lakemond, NJ RFD 3.

Went to Hungary to bring Zusanna to US. First went to Canada, where they married and then came into the US. They resided in the Bronx, later moving to Belchertown, MA.

According to the German publication, Kalendar, in 1932, Johan and Susi lived at 2359 Southern Blvd., Bronx, New York (his mother Elisabeth lived with them); in 1933 they lived at 1916 Crotona Ave., Bronx; in 1934 at 399 E 160th St., Bronx; 1936 at 743 E 182nd St., Bronx.

Came to Rochester during the war for a visit -- didn't bring any ration cards with him.
