John Armstrong lived on the north side of Hoskins Creek, probably next to the land owned by Richard White, and a neighbour to Esther Meador and William Bourne. About 1747 he sold 100 acres to his brother Richard Armstrong (Essex County Deed Book 24, p. 168. 19 Oct 1747).
He made a non-cupative will on his deathbed, ordering his entire estate to be sold and proceeds distributed to his heirs and debtors (Essex County Will Book 8, p. 135, 13 Jan 1749). His son Ambrose was a witness. Another possible son, John, was a minor, with Mary Dix as guardian. Richard Armstrong (his brother) and William Meador were administrators of his estates.
