John Croushore (
Hi Neil -- I'm curious whether there's an actual marker for John Croushore (1736-1790). I believe he is the same as my husband's ancestor, Johannes Kraushaar -- bio below. The name was changed to Croushore later.

Sometimes referred to as John Croushore. Name is also sometimes spelled Grausshaar or Groushore or Crouser. Born in either 1726 or 1735 in the Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Came to US from Germany in 1750 via ship Priscilla from Rotterdam, sworn in in Philadelphia 12 Sept 1750 (Pennsylvania German Pioneers, p. 443-4).His known residences were Ft. Allen PA (1774) and Hempfield TWP, Westmoreland County, PA. His wife was Maria Appolonia Alvanina. (http://www.oocities.org/heartland/hills/9283/index-PA.html) Settled first in Northampton Co.
