THE ELWOOD CALL LEADER,March 16, 1912, Page 1- GOOD WOMAN DEAD. Johanna Pflueger Passed Away Suddenly This Morning. Taken suddenly ill yesterday and after being removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hunt, Johanna Pflueger, 51, died suddenly at 11:30 this morning from dropsy of the heart. She had been ill but a few days and the death was entirely unexpected. The deceased was a native of Germany but came to this country when a girl. She was the mother of three children, all of whom are living, and had been a widow for a number of years, living alone in her little house in West Elwood. The deceased was one of the best known women in Elwood, having worked in many homes here for the past several years. Although she had succeeded in saving considerable money, she continued to work, being possessed of the strength of a strong man, and her willingness and genial nature, made her much in demand. She was a splendid woman with a great circle of friends and the death will be generally mourned. The funeral will be at the West Elwood church Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Turner in charge. Johanna and Adolph are listed as parents of a "female" born June 3rd, 1888 in Tipton county. May not have survived to be named. Book 1887- 1890, page 10. References
