Grand-daughter Dolores Anne recalled that Daniel was an avid reader and educated himself through his studies. He was a traveling salesman for the Watkins Company, commonly know as "The Watkins Man". He would drive from town to town in a horse drawn Watkins carriage. 10/16/2003 Ethel's marriage license lists Daniel's birthplace as Tipton county, although the census for that county gives his birthplace as Ohio. The same application lists his occupation as "factory worker."
