Traugott Moesinger is listed in the 1890 New York City Directory as a 'machinist' living on 439 W. 46th. {on ancestry.com} In the 1897 Lain's Directory for Brooklyn, there is a listing for "Moesinger, Fred'k, machinist, 603 Bainbridge". In the 1900 census for Brooklyn, 603 Bainbridge St., Kings Co., New York, 'Tr-- Mossinger' is 42? born July 1858 in Germany, married 15 years, emigrated (1881?) 19 years?, 'mechanical engineer'; with wife Margaret 43, born Sept 1856, immigrated in 1885, with 4 of 5 children living; children are Margaret, 13 born June 1886; Pauline 12, Feb. 1888; Frederick 9, born Dec 1890; and Henry 7, born Jan 1893 -- all born New York. {Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, ED 439, p. 80B.} [Parts of the record are illegible due to blotch.] According to his wife Margaret's obituary, he was known as "Louis" and moved with his family to Nutley in 1907. They raised their children in the Catholic Church. There is a death notice in the NY Times for his death on 15 June 1908: "Moesinger - At East Nutley, N.J., June 7, Traugott Moesinger, age 49."
