According to an IGI record of their marriage, she was born in 'Piffersberg, Bayern' and was the daughter of Matthias Priflinger and Therese Diepold. Margaret is listed as a widow in the 1910 Census, in Nutley, Essex Co., New Jersey. She lives at 35 Center Street with her children Margaret 23, a stenographer for telephone co.; Pauline N. 22, stenographer for R.R. co.; Fred 19, apprentice steam fitter; and Henry 17, clerical work in advertising. They also have a boarder, Joseph Von Shandorff, age 14, born in New Jersey, mother born US, father born Germany. {Nutley, 3rd Ward, ed 203, sh 2a} In 1920, Margaret is living with her daughter and son-in-law, William Fitting, in Chicago, where she lists her birthplace as 'Bavaria'. Her obituary, dated 23 August 1929, reads in part "Mrs. Margaret Moesinger passed away...at the age of seventy-three years. Mrs. Moesinger was Miss Margaret Priflinger and was born in Regensburg, Bavaria on September 4, 1856. She came to America in 1885 to marry Trangott [Traugott] Moesinger. They resided in New York and Brooklyn for twenty-two years, coming to Nutley in 1907... Funeral services were held this morning at St Mary's Catholic Church, were a requiem mass was celebrated. Burial was made at Ridgelawn Cemetery." Another clipping notes: "She is survived by two sons, Fred of Irvington and Henry Moesinger of New York City; and one daughter, Mrs. William Fitting of the Whitford Avenue address. Her husband, Louis Moesinger, died in Nutley twenty years ago." References
