Adolph (Adolf) Lammers passed away on 16 Apr 1878. The last Will and Testament of Adolph Lammers of Patoka Twp., was written 2nd April 1878 and recorded 1st May 1878 in Dubois Co., Indiana. It names son, Charley; dau. Elizabeth wife of Frederick Wessel; dau. Maria; dau. Sophia wife of John Rothert; and son, Henry. It does not name a wife living at the time he wrote his Will. HOWEVER, when the estate was settled, there was a document that lists Elizabeth Lammers as the widow (on file in Dubois Co. Records Library).

Last Will and Testament of Adolph Lammers
In the Name of God Amen
I Adolph Lammers of Patoka Township, Dubois Co. Ind. being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item 1 - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Charley, the sum of $300.00
Item 2nd - I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Elizabeth (wife of Frederick Wessel) $300
Item 3rd - I give and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Maria $300
Item 4th - I give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Sophia, wife of John Rothert, the sum of $300
Item 5th - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Henry J. all moneys Notes & claims and effects due me at my death.
Also all person property and Real Estate by me owned at my death with the special understanding that he (Henry) shall pay within 12 months after my death the above named several sums to the above named Children as hereintofor stated, and the he (Henry) pay all my Funeral Expenses and all other Just debts that I may have at my death.
Item 6 - I hereby appoint my beloved son Henry as the sole Executor of tis my last Will and Testament
Item 7 - I hereby revoke and declare null and void all former Wills by me at any time made heretofore.
In testimony whereof I Adolph Lammers have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of April 1878.
