  • Sims, Jeremiah - born 1760 in Culpeper County, Virginia, where entered service 1777 in Virginia regiment; received Pension 1832 in Muskingum County, Ohio, resided Newton Township; died 5/17/1846; married (1) 1805, Elizabeth, daughter of John & Elizabeth Saunders, Culpeper County, Virginia; moved to Ohio where wife died 1830 leaving 6 children (mentioned but not named); soldier married (2) 1/3/1839 Mr. Catherine Madden, Muskingum County, Ohio, who had 2 children (mentioned but not named) by 1st husband & no children by soldier; widow received Pension there 1855 abt. age 62 & also granted Bounty Land Warrant #31586 then; granted Pension increase there 1870 abt. age 83. F-W1500, R2191.
