Jeremiah McDonnell

Jeremiah McDonnell, 82, of 999 W. Fifth, died at 3:05 am Monday at Mercy Hospital after a month's illness.

Friends may call after 11 am Tuesday at the Hoffmann Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity. The Rev. Paul Rastatter will officiate at the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery at North Garryowen.

Mr. McDonnell was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He was born at Garryowen, Jackson County, son of Moses and Mary Ann Flanagan McDonnell and resided in Dubuque the past two years.

He was engaged in farming near Garryowen until his retirement.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Martin (Ellen) Crane, Maquoketa, Ia., and Catherine McDonnell, at home, and a brother, James McDonnell, at home.

The parish Rosary will be recited at the mortuary at 8 pm Tuesday.
