In 1841 the Orr family (all born in Lanarkshire, the 1st 3 with occupation “independent”), James (1781), Onihen (1806), Wllm (1811), Elizebeth (1821), Janet (1821) and 1 servant were at Glenfield, St. Mungo’s parish, Glasgow. James’ birth date and “Onihen” are presumably wrongly trnscribed. On a 1913 map and in a 1937 photo James Orr St. and Glenfield St. joined Alexandra Parade and Warnock St. Only the latter 2 still exist, to the west of Townmill Rd.

Janet Orr married John McAndrew 3oct1841 at Glasgow (IGI). Elisabeth Orr McAndrew was born 20jul1855 Central District, Glasgow, daughter of John McAndrew and Janet Orr (IGI). Francis Glen McAndrew was born abt 30 nov1853 at Glasgow, son of John McAndrew and Janet Orr (Latter Day Saints). In 1881 Francis G. McAndrew, coalmaster (b. 1854 Glasgow) and Elizabeth O. McAndrew were at Ashton Villa, Ayr (private boarding house) (census). Scottish archives have the will of Mrs. Janet McAndrew alias Orr, wife of John McAndrew, engineer in Glasgow, reg. 13sep1866, Glasgow (scotlandspeople).
