In an Ancestral File, Eugene Brenner says Jane was born on 6 May 1820 in England and her mother's name was Elisabeth. Alice Chambers says Jane W. Burns was born on 16 May 1820, possibly in England. However Karri Pikula in a Pedigree Resource File has her birthdate as 16 May 1826. Which birthdate is right? The Biographical History says Jane was of English ancestry and daughter Mary Jane in the 1880 census says her mother was born in England. However son Alfred Reed in the 1880 census says she was born in Scotland.
