Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - September 21, 1997 Mrs. Alvin (Janaan) Cooper, 65, 9545 Monticello Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997, while traveling out of state. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Key West, Iowa, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m. Mrs. Cooper was born on May 22, 1932 in Garryowen, Iowa, daughter of James and Florence (Deacon) McCarthy. She married Alvin E. Cooper on May 22, 1954, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque. She graduated from the former St. Joseph Academy, Dubuque. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She spent her time devoted to her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Alvin; three sons, Alvin J. Cooper, Raymond E. Cooper, and Gary E. Cooper; a daughter-in-law, Judy Delaney Cooper; six grandsons; and numerous relatives whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by an infant son. Memorials may given to St. Joseph Church Building Fund, Key West. |
