James B. Winans
James B. Winans, 81, 1166 Belvedere SE died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in Faber Nursing Home, Fowler.
Born Aug. 12, 1890, in Mecca, he was the son of Sidney and Alice (Bennett) Winans. His wife, Olive Winans, died Aug. 17, 1967.
A resident here 12 years, coming from Gustavus, he was formerly employed as a truck driver by the State Highway Department for 13 years.
Survivors include a son, Clarence of Akron: three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Smith of Cortland, Mrs. John (Gladys) Meeker of Fowler, Mrs. Starling (Ruth) North of Barberton: two sisters, Miss Ruth Winans and Mrs. Olive O'Neal, both of Warren; 24 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. A son preceded him in death.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Johnston Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
