"J. A. WILKERSON - 58, superintendent of the State fish hatchery at Fair Park seven years, died at his home here Sunday morning of a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at Rockwall, his boyhood home, at 10 a. m., Monday at the First Baptist Church. Dr. Sam Templeton, Rockwall, life-long friend: Dr. W. Marshall Craig, pastor of Gaston Avenue Baptist Church, and the Rev. O. C. Payne, pastorof Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate.
Mr. Wilkerson was born in 1873 on a farm near Rockwall. He was in the grocery business in Rockwall for a long time, but moved to Dallas to engage in the real estate business, later returning to Rockwall to farm. He married Carrie Dumas in 1897. Mr Wilkerson was appointed superintendent of the fish hatchery by the State Game, Fish and Oyster Commission under Gov. Dan Moody. In his seven years there, he set a record in production of fish.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife; six children, R. G. Wilkerson, Temple; J. A. Wilkerson Jr., Rockwall; W. D. Wilkerson, Calvert; Mrs. L. B. Lucas, Fort Worth; Mrs. W. A.
