James Swallow was born on 22nd April 1810 and baptised a couple of months later at Harpenden in Hertfordshire, son of Susannah Swallow, formerly Dearmer, and her husband George Swallow, a labourer. Sadly James died as a baby of eight months old, being buried at Harpenden on 3rd January 1811.
