James MASTERTON was born 5dec 1863 in Inverkeilor, Angus (IGI). He was known as James Lumsden MASTERTON (newspaper report and all other records) and died nov1942 at Rothesay, Isle of Bute. In 1881 he was a bank clerk at F. C. Manse, Inverkeilor (G. Masterton). James married at Kingarth, Isle of Bute, 3jun 1903 Elizabeth Barton MCINTOSH (5feb1875-20feb1948). James Lumsden Masterton, Bank of Scotland, Rothesay, son of Rev. W. Masterton, K.D., was married to Elisabeth Barton, daughter of late James McIntosh, Glasgow, and Mrs. McIntosh, Old Craigmore, 3jun1903, by Rev. Dr. Hewison, Rothesay, and Rev. W. Winter, M.A., Ascog, at Ascog Free Church (Scotsman, G. Masterton). Dr. Hewison gave a copy of his book “Bute in olden times” to James. Elizabeth Barton MCINTOSH was born 5feb1875, daughter of James MCINTOSH and Stuart BELL, and died 20feb1948 (family letters). James was witness at wedding of his cousin Alexander Masterton Dick in 1888 (scotlandspeople). James was a bank manager for the Bank of Scotland, from 1901 to 1929 at the Rothesay branch, Isle of Bute. After his retiral in 1929 he lived at Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, and later again at Rothesay (newspaper report).
