Will Abstract

James Ireson's Will, dated 3 June 1766, of the County & Parish of Frederick in the Colony of Virginia
Names wife Elizabeth [gives her peaceable possession of my house and Lott whereon I now do dovell? Known by the No. 85 together with the Two ___ Lots of five Acres each thereunto Belonging untill my Daughter Elizabeth Arrives to the years of Eighteen)
Provides Elizabeth one Good Feather Bed, Furnitire, & one of Curtains...
Also provides his "Beloved Wife Elizabeth the sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid unto here out of my Personal Estate to her & her heirs forever"...
Provides that his Lott in Sheppenburgh known by the No. 41 Together with the two outskirts of five acres Each thereunto Belonging be sold at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter Named Provided that if there is not Estate Sufficient to pay of my Just Debts if there is a & give & Bequeath to my beloved Wife Elizabeth to her & her heirs & assigns..
Provides that his Tract of Land on a Branch of Cedar Creek Containing four hundred & Forth one Acres be Sold by my Executors in order to pay my Just Debts and Further is that if the Remains in my Executors hands in the Sum of Ten Pounds as after what is mentioned in my will to my Wife that I leave the said Sum to my Brother William Ireson & I give it all to my Wife Elizabeth.
Lastly I do hereby Nominate & appoint my Beloved wife Elizabeth together with my Trusty Friend John Nisbett as Executrix & Executor of this my Last will & Testament.

This Last will & Testament of James Ireson Dec'd was proved by the Oats of William Singleton, Ann Singleton & Terrance Brannon, Witnesses so & Ordered to be Recorded. Elizabeth Ireson & John Nesbett the Executrix & Executor therein Named Refused to Take upon the matter Burthren of the Administration & there upon on the motion of John Harden who made Oath there is Certificate is Granted him for Obtaining Letters of Administration of the said Decedents Estate Given Security where upon he together with John Nesbit his Security Entered Into & Acknowledged Bond in the penalty of Five Hundred pounds Conditioned for his ___ & faighfull Administration of the said Estate.
