James N. Deemer
Ligonier
James N. Deemer, 71, of Ligonier, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at his home. He was born July 15, 1934, in Fairfield Township, a son of the late James and Gladys Laughner Deemer.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a coal miner by the former Florence Mining Co. He had also worked for 24 years for Allegheny Foundry in Bolivar.
After retirement, he enjoyed driving deliveries for the Pie Shoppe in Laughlintown. He was a member of the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed spending time in his garage working on vehicles for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna Telford Deemer; two daughters, Pamela Ann and fiance, Timothy Rusin, and Kelly J. Horner and husband Thomas, all of Youngstown; two sons, Randy L. and wife Penny, St. Marys, and Brian L. and wife Jenifer, Bolivar;
Also nine grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Eicher and husband John, New Florence.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles R. and infant twins, Carl and Clyde; and a grandson, Aaron Rusin, who died last year in Iraq while serving his country.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Ligonier, with Pastor Homer Tantlinger officiating. Interment followed in Menoher Memorial Park.
