Charles R. Deemer, 62, of Bolivar RD1, died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, in Latrobe Area Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1942, in Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County, son of the late James and Gladys Laughner Deemer.
He had been employed at Idlewild Park for over 47 years, having begun working there when he was 15.
He was a member of Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church.
He was the secretary-treasurer of the Fort Palmer Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy S. Deemer, of Amherst, N.Y. and his son, Russell C. and his wife, Kristi, Bolivar;
Also surviving are two grandchildren; a sister, Jane Eicher, of New Florence; a brother, James N., of Ligonier; and his mother-in-law, Agnes Tantlinger, of Bolivar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Tantlinger Deemer, in 1989.
Services were held Monday at Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Tomb officiating.
Interment followed in Fort Palmer Cemetery, McCracken Funeral Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
