Bolivar (rhymes with "Oliver") is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA. The population was 501 at the 2000 census. Bolivar is the location of the Antiochian Village, an important center for gatherings of Orthodox Christians in North America, including the historic Ligonier Meeting. The Antiochian House of Studies, a satellite of the University of Balamand's St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology is located on the campus of the Antiochian Village for which thousands of students from all around the world have come to temporarily reside and study in Bolivar since 1980. It features one of the largest research libraries for Orthodox theology in the Western Hemisphere, as well as a museum which educates visitors about Orthodox Christianity and Middle Eastern culture.
