Facts and Events
Robin e-mail 26 Jan. 2002 FHL film 993403, Baptisms v. 18, 1836-1841, Parish of Dundee, Angus, Scotland: Born Parents Child Named after and baptized Mar 21 21 Thomas Davidson porter [?] James Pat. uncle Mary Johnston It's difficult to read Thomas' occupation - it looks like "father" or "factor" but all other entries give an occupation for the father, and it could be "porter". The other confusing thing is that the top of the page is labelled January 1836, but the births are clearly in March. So it's possible they could be births from March 1835, but I think somebody wrote January across the top of the page, expecting to fill it up in January. I'm excited that James was named after his uncle. This suggests that Thomas and Mary probably already had at least a couple of children - I don't think they would have named their first son after an uncle. So I will have to order an earlier volume of baptisms and browse through them. References
