Facts and Events
James is found in:
There apparently was another, somewhat older, James Clendenen in Fairfield Co., who married in 1830 and was head of household in the 1840 census. He is not found in Ohio in the 1850 census. The reasoning behind selecting the younger James to be Andrew's son is his local presence in 1850 (when he was mentioned in Andrew's will) and the fact that Andrew still had a son (of an appropriate age) living at home in the 1840 census. It might be that the older James was Andrew's brother or nephew. References
