James Capen [#201, s/o James Capen, b. Charlestown 29 Aug 1736, d. Putney, VT, m. (1) [first child b. 1784] Elizabeth Bridges, m. (2) "(?)" Fitchburg 16 Jun 1811 Hepsibah Hodgkins.
[Note: It is strongly possible that the Capen Genealogy has misidentified the James Capen who is discussed here. There are two major discrepancies: the death record in Putney of the man who died in 1830 shows his age as 66, which matches a birth about 1764. Yet that man's estate is administered by the son attributed by this source to the man born 1736. The 1800 census record in Leominster where the last three children are baptized is a man age 25-45, so clearly born after 1755. The James, s/o James, has a nephew James, born 1763 that matches these ages nearly perfectly, and would be about 20-21 at the first marriage instead of 48. The Capen Genealogy has nothing on the nephew other than his birth, but it seems like everything attributed to this man, probably belongs to the nephew.]
