Judith Wagner of Mifflenburg, Pa, a descendant of Jacob Yarger, has written a very well documented genealogy of Jacob and his descendants. I have quoted extensively from her work in this section on Jacob. More information on the family and descendants can be found in her book.

As stated in the story about his father, Jacob bought 220 acres of land in Hartley Twp of Union County from 6 April 1814 to 12 Feb. 1822 (when it was recorded at the court house) with help from his father. The farm stayed in the family until 1899 when it was sold upon the death of Jacob's son, John, who had inherited it. Today the farm is located on the south side of Route 45. The front of the house faces the road which goes from Hartelton to Swengel, the main road before the "turnpike" (Route 45) was built.
